For this example, we will use Phantom, but any Web3 wallet such as Metamask or Coinbase wallet that is compatible with the Base network will work.
Navigate to https://app.uniswap.org/swap and select “connect” in the top right corner.
From there, a list of compatible wallets will appear. Select your preferred wallet.
Click connect on the authorisation message that appears. If you have connected to Uniswap before, this authorisation message may not appear.
Your wallet is now connected to Uniswap.
We now need to find the contract address for the token you wish to trade.

If you have USDC in your wallet already, please continue to the Making your trade section. If you have ETH in your wallet, follow the instructions below to swap your ETH for USDC.
Navigate back to Uniswap and click on “Select token” to continue.
From there, click the Ethereum icon on the right and then select Base from the drop-down menu. This will enable you to use the tokens that you own on base. If you have USDC, you will need to select the Base version of USDC.
You can recognise if you have selected Base by checking if your tokens have the blue Base logo in the corner of the token icon on the Uniswap interface.
On Uniswap, you can choose to trade with ETH or USDC. For this example, we will use USDC as $TOKEN will only be tradeable against USDC when it is launched.
If you do not have USDC in your wallet, you will need to swap your ETH for USDC to trade $TOKEN. However, for other tokens, you can trade them against ETH.
Select USDC within the Buy search field, ensuring that it has the Base icon before continuing.
Select Review and then click Swap to initiate the trade.
Finally, confirm the transaction in the wallet.
You will now have USDC in your wallet.
Next, paste the contract address for TOKEN into the search field to find your asset, and select it from the menu.
The Contract Address for TOKEN is 0xD758916365B361Cf833BB9c4c465ECd501dDd984 ⚠️ Please only use the contract address provided by official token.com channels such as here, our X channel and Telegram. Any other contract addresses could be used to scam you.
You may receive a Warning message like the following image after entering the contract address. Click “I understand” to proceed.
Now, enter the amount of USDC you wish to swap for TOKEN. The amount of USDC you want to swap and the amount of TOKEN you will receive is displayed in the Sell and Buy fields.
Now, click Review, where you will receive a breakdown of your trade, plus the expected fees and Network costs you will pay on the trade.
After pressing Review, you may have to approve USDC before you can swap if you haven’t used it before. To do this, simply press confirm on both approval messages that appear in your wallet.
Once you’ve approved USDC, press Swap to confirm the transaction in your wallet.
Finally, Confirm the transaction in your wallet. Please note that when you complete your trade, the tokens you have traded and the amounts will be visible to you.
Your trade will then initiate on the blockchain, which should only take a few seconds. Your tokens will then appear in your wallet. Your wallet will display how much TOKEN you own and its value.
If you can’t find your tokens in your wallet, select “Manage token list” and copy the TOKEN contract address into the search bar. Your tokens will then be displayed in your wallet.
You’re now a TOKEN holder on Base!
